God Doesn't Always Give Us the Answer We Want
I don't think there has been a day in my life when I haven't needed advice or support. The journey I have undertaken and come to understand has provided doorways and pathways to places I often didn't anticipate. I did, however make the choice to open the door or go down those paths. I've never done things to get a reward or a prize; I have always just tried to do my best and get things done. I do want people to see the accomplishment, but I don't need the accolades or reward.
I think the key thing to understand is that we have always been allowed to choose for ourselves. We are taught and instructed to do so many things, and we have the opportunity to ask questions and seek advice and support not only from people we know in our mortal life, but also from our heavenly support team.
Sometimes when we receive the answers, we have the choice to act and have faith through that action. I'm often impressed when I say, "Okay, I'm going to give this a shot. If things are going to go haywire, can you just give me a perspective on how to work through it, or should I stop, or should I pivot?" Sometimes those answers don't come right away, and I just keep going. It may be frustrating at times, but it helps to clarify what I am supposed to do and who I am supposed to become.
It can also give me a sense of purpose. When I know I am becoming who I am meant to be, it helps me understand why I had to make the choices I did, and it gives me a perspective that if a challenge or opportunity comes my way again, I can reflect on what I have learned and lean in and make a better choice to proceed.
I am often so grateful that, like Erica Mills, I have been allowed to grow in what I am learning, enjoy it and continue to pivot, change and develop the skills needed for each aspect of my life. I may still be figuring out my calling in life, but the sense of direction and purpose that comes with the answers I have received when I follow through is always a blessing.
