I Know I Can

Do or Do Not There Is No Try

The majority of the week was spent watching the videos and doing the readings, and it all came back to the same concept of the little engine that could.  We often don't give ourselves enough credit to do our best, or at least to give 1% more than we did in the previous attempt.  We can get discouraged easily and more often than not do not want to make another attempt.

However, the challenges we face give us perspectives and experiences that help us look at our problems in a different way.  Often, when this occurs, we come up with new solutions to our difficulties.  We also learn that sometimes we need to ask for help or support to work through it to come up with the best possible outcome.

When we achieve results, they may be better than we had originally thought.  Sometimes we may still fail, but when we gain these new perspectives, we can see that new opportunities are opened to us. In reaching out to others, they may see how much we persevere and want us to be a part of their team and want to work with us because we show we are consistent in our efforts, and we want to succeed.

We may not attain the desirable result at times, but we know that each attempt we make brings us closer to a goal that we didn't realize that we had. We may see that our failure is really our success, or we may see that our failure helps us understand that we shouldn't have attempted it in the first place.   Sometimes, when we go back and go through all the steps to see what happened and where we may have gone wrong, we can also learn to adapt and correct those steps where needed and make another attempt.

The Little Engine that could knew he had to show up to the station, but doubted their abilities, but all he needed was a little encouragement and a little bit more bravery and consistency, and he was able to make it safely over the hill to the destination.
